Boys Weekend

So this weekend Mom was out of town on some sort of a "ladies only" excursion, so I got to spend a good deal of time hanging out with Dad. Once we finally got up and dressed we did our normal morning routine: eat, bouncy chair, (time for a change), maybe a little nap, tummy time, etc. So the morning was pretty much the normal fair, except for we stretched it out - no need to run off to day care.

So anyway I would say we had a blast. The day was beautiful and we spent a majority of the afternoon hanging out on the deck watching waves and boats (thanks for the shirt Aunt Liz!) Near the end of the day I was really tired and I will admit, got a little cranky (this might also be due to these things I have trying to poke their way through my gums?) Not sure, but Dad keeps saying even though it hurts the sooner the come in the sooner I can have steak with him. I have no clue what steak is, BUT it sounds really yummy!!!

Hop Hop Easter Bunny

Easter 2009 (my first Easter) was very exciting. I had the opportunity to fly for the first time! (I occasionally dream about flying but this was cool!) I have to admit I didn't really get to enjoy it all that much -- I find flying a great opportunity to catch a nap.

Once we arrived, to Grandpa & Grandma Z.'s house we settled in for a few days of r&r. (Dad seemed to be getting some work done - why I am not sure, it was a great time to relax and enjoy everyone's company.) I got to meet my cousins, Uncles and aunt.

Easter Sunday we went to church and had a wonderfully filling meal (so Mom tells me -- I got another bottle stuck in my mouth -- I really wonder what a chocolate bunny tastes like?

All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back (I hear there is another trip in our near future!)

Taking care of my parents

So I have heard that many times children will find themselves caring for, in one way or another,
their parents as they grow older. I did not expect that my tour of duty would have to start this soon!

It all began last night when I decided I needed a early morning snack. This not being unusual (I eat about once every 3 hours -- helps me maintain my waistline) Cute aren't I? :)

Anyhow, there was another reason I was waking up - there was trouble in 'River City' As Mom put me back in my crib after eating (Dad had fed me around midnight just so you know he isn't slacking on helping out) she quickly realized that there was indeed a problem. An ominous red glow was emanating from the house next door. We have new nextdoor neighbors who are in the middle of building their dream home. A beautiful place - open an airy ( I got to see it last weekend in fact!)

Well I am not sure how it started but the beautiful home was ablaze. Once Mom & Dad realized what was going on, they called 911, wrapped me up and we ran out of our house - you see, the two buildings are sorta close.

Long story short, the new place is a complete loss. Luckily no one was hurt, and none of our neighbors belongings were lost. My my house now needs a little repair work -- nothing what it could have been if I hadn't woke Mom up and we called 911. Lessons learned
  1. Check the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure you know your quickest way to safety.
  2. Appreciate each day -- you don't know what's around the corner.
I am off to take a nap.

NEVER get caught on camera

So I tried to explain to my cousin Mason that there is nothing wrong with causing a little mischief. The one thing to remember NEVER get caught on camera. I just wanted Mom and Dad to know that the finger prints on the refrigerator are NOT mine -- here is the proof. Let this proof stand and let no accusations of refrigerator finger prints fly my way till I am about 18 years old.

Like I was saying...

So if you read my previous post you already know I like to entertain. (BTW - I need to apologize for not posting last week - Dad keeps taking 'my' laptop to work with him and leaving me with nothing to post with!) Anyhow, I am excited to share that this past weekend I threw a bit of a party, and I must say -- supreme! Grandma and Grandpa M. came to visit! While Grandma was teaching Dad how to make Stromboli (I really wanted some it smelled soooo good!) Grandpa and I hung out!

Not only did Grandma and Grandpa come to spend the weekend with me -- We also were able to celebrate Grandma's birthday! I can't wait to celebrate my birthday, I want cupcakes, a seven-layer chocolate cake, Ice cream, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, hot fudge sundays, mmmmoawow! Can't Wait!

I also had the wonderful opportunity to meet my Aunt and Uncle (Mom tells me I have more Aunts and Uncles but that I have to wait a bit longer to meet them -- something about many miles? Whatever that is.)

I also had the pleasure of meeting one of my cousins, Mason. From our first meeting, I know we will get along great and be able to cause some trouble together!!!

Company!!!

Yes, so I must say I do like to entertain. I get a thrill out of listening to people talk 'my language' for a change and not that gobbly-gook they call English. This happens much more frequently when company comes over, I have to admit I enjoy putting smiles on my visitors faces.

This weekend I have had the pleasure of meeting for the first time, Grandma and Grandpa Z. I would say, other than one or two crying spells (hey I needed to be changed!) it has been a wonderful weekend so far.

Plain and simple - I like naps.

In case you were wondering, yes I do enjoy napping.
Sometimes long naps, sometimes short naps. Sometimes I nap before a meal, sometimes I nap after a meal, occasionally I nap in the middle of a meal ;) . Sometimes I nap laying down, sometimes I nap sitting up. Sometimes I nap in a swing, sometimes I nap in my crib, sometimes I nap with Mom sometimes I nap with Dad.

Sometimes, I just nap.

Swinging away the day

So today I was introduced to what I can only describe as the world's greatest invention -- Ever. The swing! (Thanks Layla and Mason!) So these things are the bomb! Not only do they constantly keep me in motion (which honestly makes me a little sleepy) there are the coolest sounds and these things that keep flying over my head! I mean -- what could be better?!

Where did you say you were taking me?

Hey sorry I didn't post yesterday. So we were hanging out all morning and into the afternoon, doing the same ol, same ol and then all of the sudden Mom and Dad started picking up My room and packing stuff up. Yes it was a little messy but come on, its the weekend - save that sorta work for during the week. Anyway, next thing I know they are dressing me up until I look like a snowman! After Mom signed a bunch of papers the next thing I know she was sitting in a chair with wheels carrying me out of my room! I mean come on, she didn't even ask if I wanted to go anyplace. Well we kept going, and going and the next thing I knew I was strapped into what I can only figure is a torture device (with all the straps and harnesses) and Dad carried me out the door - and MAN was it COLD!

So we drove for a long time, and then they took me out and into this whole new room - well series of rooms I guess. It looks all different than my room, no people in blue uniforms, not poking and prodding - I think I can get used to this new place! Well I will tell you about today tomorrow, now I am tired and am heading off to bed -- did I mention I got a new bed? (Two in fact!)

Hanging Out

So today has been rather uneventful. Still have a lot of people coming into the room, undressing me, then doing unmentionable things and wrapping me back up. I woke up from a nap and felt like Niagara Falls had emptied into my crib (a little fussing and another strip down took care of that - much nicer) Overall we have just been hanging out. Dad looks a little tired if you ask me but Mom is raging - multitasking and everything!

So someone made mention of the fact that I was still covered in the swimming pool water I had been chillin' in for the past 9 months and that it was time I had a bath. Now, I wasn't really sure what they were talking about, but I was figuring it would not be the most pleasant of an experience (the only thing I really enjoy so far after arriving is being held by Mom, Dad, and the other cool peeps that have stopped to see me - the poking and prodding has got to stop!) So here I am taking my first bath!

Today, I am here.

Well today I took my first step in life by entering the world at 8:42 AM EST. The nice people tell me I weigh 6.6 lbs. and am about 19.5" long. I have also heard that I am supposed to have my Dad's nose and eyes, and My Mom's lips. The thing I am confused about is if I have them, they must look pretty funny without them!
